I traveled to Bremen Maine where I picked up the boat to go over to Audubon's Hog Island Camp. It is a short five minute trip over to the island. There were three of us and we were given name tags and introduced to some of the staff by Steve Kress who is the director of this program and responsible for the reintroduction of Puffins along the Maine Coast. He recently wrote a book along with Derrick Jackson called Project Puffin - The Improbable Quest to Bring a Beloved Seabird Back to Egg Rock. It is an enjoyable educational easy read and I highly recommend it.

I checked out the collection of birds and artifacts and tried to solve the mystery bird. I think it was a Common Tern but not positive. We will find out later. I took a little walk around and took a few photos as seen below. At 4:45 we got together and met the rest of the guests for the program and the many volunteers and educators. There are 14 people signed up for the program. Following the get to know each other program we had some goodies before going into dinner which was great.

At 7:30 we all got together in the Fish Barn to talk about the birds we had seen with Keven McGowen who is a renowned Crow expert and ornithologist from Cornell and one of the instructors. This was followed by a presentation by Steve Kress about the Gulf of Maine and Hog Island .
